Flavour Intensity
Cognac, France
You’ve probably heard of Cognac - at least the spirit, that is. You likely wouldn’t be too surprised to learn that Cognac is fairly famous for its distilleries. Located in the south-west of France, it’s an ancient, fortified town that has been a global distilling hub since the 1600s.
A gentle distillation technique
BLG was born from wanting to experiment with the complexity of gin with the bright flavours of bergamot. Produced in a limited edition of around 1100 bottles, this is the second batch created by Audemus. Using a vacuum distillation technique, each botanical and fruit used to produce Bergamot Gin Liqueur is distilled individually and gently, at a low temperature. This means that all the ingredients retain maximum freshness and flavour, and bring their unique personalities to the concoction.
The taste of sunshine
The juniper base of Bergamot Gin Liqueur provides delicate support to the fresh Calabrian bergamot and lemon zest flavours of its top notes. The intricately intertwined layers create a fruity, flavourful, radiantly sunny experience. The final touch of Armagnac eau-de-vie adds depth and warmth to the palate. The Audemus team works directly with the citrus and juniper growers in Italy, and source their teas with a direct importer.
The Brains Behind It
Big Where it Matters
After working for a number of years for famous cognac distilleries including Martell and Courvoisier, Miko decided it was time to branch and pursue his own venture. In 2013, he began distilling his own spirits in his living room. A few years and three workmates later, Miko’s exquisite gins and liqueurs are growing in reputation - and are still distilled in his living room. For him, Audemus is the realisation of a lifelong love for creating spirits; his passion is present in everything he produces.
